2025 Residence Permit Fees and Card Fee in Turkey

Foreigners who intend to obtain a residence permit in Türkiye or extend their existing permit are legally required to pay the residence permit card fee and the residence permit fee during the application process.      In the practice of Foreigners Law, some of the most frequently raised questions include: “How is the residence permit fee calculated? Which foreigners or countries are exempt from the fee? Is it possible to pay the fee online? Who is required to pay the single-entry visa fee?” The answers to these questions are addressed in this article. This fee must be paid before attending the appointment at the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management. For 2025, the residence permit card fee is 810 TL as stated below.

The residence permit card fee is charged to all applicants regardless of their nationality. Therefore, no country or foreign national is exempt from this fee under any circumstances.

In summary:

  • It is mandatory for every application.
  • No foreign national is exempt.
  • It is nonrefundable, even if the application is rejected.

Residence Permit Fees (2025)

The residence fee applies to all types of residence, such as short-term, family, long-term or student residence.

  • The single entry visa fee is payable only for the first application; it is not collected for extensions.
  • The card fee is set at 810 TL for each application. It is applied for every country without exception.

To summarize, there are 3 different residence fees. These are:

  1. Residence Permit Fee; According to the list above, it is calculated according to the duration of your stay in Turkey.
  2. Single Entry Visa Fee; If you have not entered Turkey with a visa, you must pay this fee when applying for a residence permit. It is 7.882,70 TL for the year 2025.
  3. Card Fee; 810 TL for 2025.

   2025 Residence Fee Calculation

  If you want to calculate how much your residence fee costs before applying for a residence permit in Turkey, as a general rule of thumb you should do the following step by step;

  1. Step: Find your country in the list above,
  2. Step: Calculate the residence permit fee according to the duration of your stay. For example; If you apply for a 1-year residence permit as an Iranian citizen: $25 for the first month and $5 for each remaining month (11×5 = $55) In total, you need to pay 55 + 25 = 80$.
  3. Step: Add single entry visa fee if applicable
  4. Step: Add up the cost of the card and you will find the total amount you have to pay.

How to Calculate Detailed Fee Amounts by Country?

The residence fee, single entry visa fee and card fee to be paid for residence permit (residence permit) applications in Turkey are not the same for every foreigner. The fee amounts are determined according to the applicant’s country of citizenship and are calculated under 6 different categories:

Different residence fee formulas apply for each group; some countries do not charge visa fees for their citizens, while others charge a flat USD rate.

In addition, some countries such as the Czech Republic, Denmark, Ireland, Kosovo, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Syria and Turkmenistan are not included in the above groups and are subject to special calculation. Citizens of these countries do not pay residence fees due to the principle of reciprocity. The total amount they will pay is as follows.

  • Turkmenistan; 810 TL
  • Nepal; 810 TL
  • Ireland; 810 TL
  • Denmark; 810 TL
