How to Pay the Residence Permit Fee?

You can pay your residence permit fee in two ways:

  1. Online
  2. At the Tax Office

In order to pay the fee, you must first complete your residence permit application. The exact amount will be determined based on the duration of the permit and your nationality once the application is submitted.

Once the fee amount is set, you can pay it using the accrual number (Tahakkuk No) found on your application document, either online or by visiting a tax office.

Online Payment for Residence Permit Fee

To pay the fee online, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official Dijital Tax Office website: (http://ivd.gib.gov.tr)
  2.  Click on “Göç İdaresi İkamet Tezkeresi Harcı Ödeme” (Migration Management Residence Permit Fee Payment).
  3.  Enter your “Tahakkuk No” (found under the “TAHAKKUK ÖDEME BİLGİLERİ” section on the first page of your registration form) into the Application Number / Accrual Number field, enter the security code, and click “Sorgula” (Inquire).
  4.  Two lines will appear: “İkamet Harcı” (Residence Fee) and “İkamet İzni Kart Bedeli” (Residence Permit Card Fee). Pay both by clicking the “ÖDE” button and entering your card details.
  5.  After the payment, click “Alındı İndir (PDF)” to download your official payment receipt.

If you are wondering how much your total fee should be, you can calculate it by reading my related article: https://erdalnuhbasa.com/tr/2026-ikamet-izni-belge-bedeli-ve-harc-ucretleri/

Paying at the Tax Office

  1.  Go to any tax office (Vergi Dairesi) in your city. Take a queue number for the cashier (Vezne).
  2. Provide the Tahakkuk No” located in the “TAHAKKUK ÖDEME BİLGİLERİ” section of your Residence Permit Registration Form to the officer.
  3. Complete the payment and collect your official receipts.

Where Can I Find the Residence Permit Accrual Number?

To find the Accrual Number, simply check your Residence Permit Registration Form. The “Tahakkuk No” is listed under the “Tahakkuk Ödeme Bilgileri” section on the first page. You can pay both the Residence Fee and the Card Fee using this number.

Can Foreigners in “Overstay” Status Apply for a Residence Permit?

Foreigners who have fallen into illegal/overstay status in Turkey cannot apply for a short-term residence permit. A personal application by an undocumented foreigner may lead to the immediate execution of a Deportation and Administrative Detention decision.

However, foreigners in overstay status may apply for a Humanitarian Residence Permit through their lawyers. To do this, you must issue a power of attorney to your lawyer via a Notary.
